Good thing Rick's phone call woke me up -- otherwise, I might have missed my hair cut appointment (for us ladies, that's one thing you don't miss)!
I started playing with my camera and new lens -- taking shots of things in the house (it is still too cold to venture out -- call me a sissy, that's ok) shortly after I arrived home from my haircut appointment.
After playtime was over, I loaded the pics on to my computer - when "BAM" my computer put the brakes on and decided it had had enough of life, and was trying to slip into another world!!!!
Luckily, Jared, my oldest son, who is a software engineer, was going into work late -- so he cruised by and spent a couple hours working on my computer and bringing it back to life!!!! Thank you so much Jared!!!! Whew -- I am so thankful that both my sons are very, very, computer literate (so I don't have to be).
So, I'm up and running again, and have a few more pictures to post giving you an idea of how fantastic the new Nikon 70-200 mm lens is!.
None of the following photos has been edited (other than one being cropped) in Photoshop. These puppies are straight out of the camera (SOTC).

As I mentioned in my previous post -- with all my non-VR lenses, I try very hard to keep the shutter speed higher than the focal length of my lens (on my 24-85mm lens, at 85MM -- I would try to keep the shutter speed at/above 1/100) in order to reduce camera shake and blurry pictures. This isn't always practical especially in low light situations. This lens definitely has it going on in the VR (vibration reduction) arena! As you can see from the pictures above, I was at a shutter speed of 1/15 at 200mm. I am tickled pink!!!!
If you're thinking about investing in a new lens -- I'd highly suggest this one. It's fast, sharp and has beautiful bokeh -- only draw back is -- my left arm muscles are going to get huge. I figure I'll have one ginormous arm by year's end! Watch out Popeye -- here I come!
