Wichita Falls Blizzard | Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

It is absolutely beautiful outside this Christmas morning. It's the kindof Christmas every kid wants to wake up to! White, fluffy, snow as far as your eyes can see!

Luckily, nature helped me out with a snowman -- all I had to do was provide a few props!

The temps are supposed to stay in the  30's so it may be a few days before the snow melts.  Earlier this week, the temperatures were in the high 60's and for me, perfect December weather.  A couple days later -- blizzards!

Interstates and highways heading north and east are still shut down.  Hopefully, all the stranded drivers and passengers have been rescued.

I can't remember the last time we had so much snow!

Enjoy your Christmas -- and stay warm and safe!

Wichita Falls Blizzard | I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Wow -- we received a record snowfall today (since they started keeping records sometime in the 1800's). A total of 8" fell in this area. Interstates/highways were closed heading west and north!

Unfortunately, all church candlelight services were canceled due to the snow.

Hank
,the Cow Dog, loves the snow!  The other dogs apparently are warm weather dogs -- but Hank -- he was like a kid in the candy store.  Back and forth, back and forth, romping around with so much enthusiasm that he had me laughing!

Here's a couple of shots from today (btw -- I did not go outside -- I just opened the back door and snapped away -- it's wayyyyyy to cold for me!!!!).

Notice the little mound on the table top in the far left picture, then center, and finally on the right?  It grew from about 4 inches early in the morning to about 2 1/2 feet by the end of the evening!

Notice how Hank is now sporting a snow beard?

Have a Merry Christmas!  Stay safe!

Merry Christmas

Psalms 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."

I hope each of you has a very peaceful, relaxing and blessed Christmas. In all the busyness of this time of year, please stop and take time to reflect on the beautiful, perfect baby who was born to redeem us.

Merry Christmas!

Love Frances

Carolyn's Christmas Ornament Exchange Party

Hola and Happy Wednesday to you all!  The sun is out -- but it doesn't mean it's warm outside!!!!  Brrrrrrrrr  -- how many more days of Winter (yes, I am a big, huge, sissy)??????

Here are some pictures from my friend Carolyn's annual Christmas Ornament Exchange Party!  Carolyn gave us all a special treat this year -- by inviting Gitana (sp??) to sing a few songs for us before dinner.  Gitana is attending MSU right now -- and has a beautiful, sweet, soprano voice!

These ladies are truly a blessing to me!

Hope you enjoy them -- and your day!

Happy Tuesday

Carolyn

First of all - Carolyn is the hostess with the mostess! Every year -- she gathers her friends together for her annual Christmas Ornament exchange party! I don't get to see some of these wonderful ladies -- but once a year at Carolyn's party.

I told her way back after my first party -- that she has the best and truly lovely group of friends -- I still believe it to this day!

I don't have much time to work on the pictures I took last night cuz I'm meeting my friend Elizabeth for a tour of Sheppard Air Force Base -- so I thought I'd hunker down and at least get a few pictures off!

Coco trying to help herself to Charla's dessert

Before I close, I want to give Becky a huge cyber hug and thank you for the bread making book and tools!  I made the Roasted Galic Potato Bread from the Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day book that she gave me -- and it was a hit!!!!  The bread was moist and flavorful, and the crust was chewy/crunchy.

I made an extra loaf for Rick -- and when I got back from the party -- he told me that he had to pull himself away from the bread -- in order to save me a piece!!!!   Woo hoo!  You can't imagine how thrilled I am that I can now --- finally --- make bread!  This is the third recipe I've made from the book -- and all three came out looking good and tasting great!  If you know someone who likes or would like to make homemade bread -- order them a copy of this book.  You'll be their hero (and hey -- you might even get a loaf or two)!

Have a great Tuesday -- and check back later for more pics from last night's party!

Take care -- Fraces

Merry Christmas

The kids, Rick and I celebrated our Christmas last night. We had Vickie's Chicken Pot Pie (if you haven't tried it -- what are you waiting for???????? Christmas, well guess what, it's almost here!), kids liked it -- allot! We had a wonderful time talking and laughing around the dinner table. I enjoy these special moments when we can all get together (getting misty eyed right now). A couple of the kids are suffering from minor colds, Amy -- stay away from the sick people!!!!!!! I can't believe it is already Christmas Eve and 2008 is almost over. I hope that all of you will have a very blessed, and wonderful Christmas with your families and friends. I've enjoyed all the moments I've shared with each of you and look forward to what God has in store for us in 2009. Merry Christmas and God Bless each one of you dear friends and family!

Carolyn's Christmas Party

Thank you Carolyn for another fabulous Christmas party. Carolyn has been hosting this annual event for as long as I can remember -- and it is something I look forward to immediately after it's over! We had a few friends who couldn't make it this year because they were under the weather -- a huge hug and get well to Lisa, Judy, Charla, and Wanda. We missed you -- and out of respect for you we also ate your portions!!!!!! :) Michael -- the soup was terrific! Please feel free to make another batch and bring it by - anything I can do to help cultivate your culinary skills you know!
Here are some of the viewable pics from the party. Note to self. Use the tripod. Yes, I brought it, and Yes, I am way to lazy to use it. Next year, I will use it. My hands are not steady enough to take pics in low light. I fooled myself into thinking that using a really high ISO would solve the problem. Nope, it just gave me grainy and fuzzy pics. Here are the best of the batch.

Again -- Thank you Carolyn for a wonderful night of fellowship, food, laughs. I love you all! PS -- check out the pic of Scruffy Butt and Pepper (you can barely see Pepper)!
