Check out this website (click here)!

Happy New Year to all! Rick and I had a nice, quiet evening of dinner and a movie (I sound like a stick in the mud, don't I???) to usher in the New Year. The movie we chose was Valkyrie starring Tom Cruise. Quite honestly, I am not a TC fan, but I did enjoy this movie. This movie gives you some insight into a group of men and women that tried to bring Hitler down and bring the suffering of millions and the war to an end. I give it my thumbs up! We celebrated the New Year on New York time and then our time. And then just a few minutes after Rick left -- the Country Club set off their fireworks. Rats -- I forgot about that -- and didn't have my TV on to drown out the kabangs and thuds from the fireworks -- so Blue was antsy and Lola was barking. The dogs LOVE fireworks (I am being facetious).

This morning, while looking for tutorials, I found this amazing website http://www.paxtonprints.com/

Please take time today to check it out. There is a beautiful video at the end of his tutorial on capturing urban images http://www.paxtonprints.com/videos/remix/remix.html
Again, please check this out. He refers to Matthew 25:34-40 in this tutorial.

34 "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Wow, am I rambling like a ninny this morning or what? Ok -- I'll stop.

Wishing all of you an amazing New Year -- and may God bless you! We all have so much to be thankful for -- let's remember and help those who are down on their luck and the "least of these".

Love you all -- Frances

PS -- just discovered how the link (show enclosures) work in this blog. All you have to do to get to Steve Paxton's link is click on the title of today's blog. Would you believe I tried and tried and tried to get that little bugger to show up -- and it was there all along -- just got to click on the title! Everybody repeat after me -- duhhhhhhhhhhh oh, that's how it works!

  1. I've seen his website before, it's absolutely amazing. His processing is beautiful. It looks like he's applying an HDR filter, or more likely, actually shooting HDR. I have a plug-in that I use A LOT - you can find it here - http://www.mediachance.com/plugins/redynamix.html. There's a free evaluation version, but it watermarks your images, but it's only $16, so I purchased the full version. It's money well spent!
